Lucien was born and raised in Boston, Massachusetts. He obtained his B.A. in Chemistry and Comparative Studies in Literature and Culture from Occidental College in Los Angeles. During that time he did Research with Prof. Jeffrey Cannon focusing on developing methods for net-oxidative photoredox alkene functionalization as well as Cu-based 1,3-dicarbonyl and Si-enol ether couplings. He enjoys baking and tough organic mechanisms.
